Computer Vision Software Engineer

Our expanding Israel R&D team is hiring an Experienced Software Engineer to join our top-notch team of developers in advancing the next generation of AI and vision-assisted robotics in the operating room. The role will be part of the Asensus software team and will be responsible for designing and developing software for complex surgical robotic platforms with a focus on desktop applications and machine vision systems. This includes implementing computer vision algorithms, handling video or image acquisition, processing, and display. The role requires working in an agile global R&D team and collaborating with cross-functional departments to define requirements, design new features, and comply with regulatory requirements, including the company's design control procedures.
Responsibilities
The role will be part of the Asensus software team and will be responsible for designing and developing software for complex surgical robotic platforms with a focus on desktop applications and machine vision systems. This includes implementing computer vision algorithms, handling video or image acquisition, processing, and display. The role requires working in an agile global R&D team and collaborating with cross-functional departments to define requirements, design new features, and comply with regulatory requirements, including the company's design control procedures.
Responsibilities
- Design and development of medical device software for existing and future complex surgical robotic platforms
- Implement system software and infrastructure with particular emphasis on Desktop applications and machine vision systems
- Computer vision algorithms implementations
- Video or image handling including acquisition, processing, and display
- Work in an agile global R&D team, and interact with cross-functional departments to define requirements, design, and new features
- Comply with regulatory requirements, including company design control procedures
- Assist in document control and maintenance of design history files
- All Other Essential Duties as directed
- BSc in Computer Science or related engineering degree
- 5+ years of experience in developing high-performance code in C++ for Windows platform or RT systems
- Strong understanding of OOP, multi-process, and multi-threading applications
- Experience in the computer vision algorithms implementation
- Deep understanding of the image processing principles
- Experience with NVidia tools and SDKs is a strong advantage
- Experience with video grabbing, processing, and display
- Experience with Direct X or Open GL
- Proven experience with software performance optimizations
- Work in a multidisciplinary environment of the surgical robotic system
- Experience in a global company
- Experience in a medical device company
- Fluency in Hebrew and English
- Experience with Mat Lab and Python code
- Experience in implementation of Machine Learning based algorithms, pre and post-processing implementations
- Experience in CUDA programming
- Experience with Open CV
- Experience with GIT
- Capable of working in a cross-functioning team environment
- Teamwork and high communication skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
