Position: Social Content Creator
Salary: €32,000 - €35,000 Annually DOE + Bonus + Benefits

A Social Content Creator at Decathlon Ireland is always on top of the latest social media and content creation techniques and tools. They can produce high-quality content quickly and adapt their work to fit the unique requirements of each platform, particularly Tik Tok and Instagram.
Social Content Creators are creative, forward-thinking individuals with expert knowledge of trends and internet culture. They are expected to be the team’s go-to expert on social media trends and platform-native content creation, especially with a focus on video.
Responsibilities:
● Trend Research: Research and compile social trends, competitors’ best practices, and innovative executions to inspire and pitch new content ideas.
● Content Development: Develop, create, and publish engaging content for Decathlon Ireland’s social media platforms.
● Pre-Production Planning: Create storyboards, shot lists, and other pre-production
materials for both social-first and site content.
● Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with the creative, social, and marketing teams to produce impactful content across Tik Tok, Instagram, Facebook, and You Tube.
● Storytelling: Highlight sports and fitness journeys, showcase products in action, and tell compelling stories that inspire movement and exploration.
● Video Production: Capture and edit original video content, handling all phases of production from filming to post-production (editing, color correction, sound design, etc)
● Branded Templates: Design and maintain branded style templates for IG stories, posts, and other social content to keep visuals on-brand.
● On-Camera Presence: Represent the Decathlon brand with high energy and enthusiasm, participating in creative projects such as hosting, engaging with followers, or showcasing routines.
● Platform Optimisation: Monitor trends, features, and algorithm changes on social media and adapt strategies to ensure Decathlon stays ahead of the curve.
● Creative Vision: Drive "out-of-the-box" ideas and create trendsetting content that audiences want to rewatch, share, and engage with continuously.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
● Proven Experience: 1-2 years of proven experience in content creation, photography, editing, and videography, ideally within the sports, outdoor, or retail industries.
● Technical Skills: Proficiency with multimedia editing tools for high-quality photo and video content creation.
● Platform Knowledge: Strong understanding of social media platforms, including best practices, algorithms, and audience behaviors on Tik Tok, Instagram, Facebook, and You Tube.
● Visual Storytelling: A strong visual sense with an understanding of video composition, lighting, angles, and framing techniques.
● Equipment Savvy: Experience with studio tools such as ring lights, tripods, props, and backdrops for effective setup.
● Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain and document creative processes and technical details.
● Time Management: Exceptional ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
● Creative Process Expertise: Knowledgeable about tools and workflows for efficient content creation and delivery.
● Passion for Sports: A genuine enthusiasm for sports, fitness, or outdoor activities and a strong understanding of Decathlon’s active lifestyle community would be preferable.
