Absolute requirements
A fully qualified and experienced Early Years Practitioner holding an Early Childhood Degree or above is required to join the team in January 2025. Proficient English language is key as it is the teaching medium and all teachers the employees speak a native standard of English.
Ideal professional traits
A passionate educator having experience with the needs of ESL children within the EYFS framework. There will be evidence of sound knowledge of inquiry based learning, pedagogical style of lesson planning, writing evaluations, computer and ICT operations. The teacher will have strong self organization skills and excellent classroom management skills and be a team player.
A pleasant and cheerful personality is what we are looking for as well as someone who can develop an excellent rapport with families of children in the school.
The work involved
The reception class teacher will assist in implementing the EYFS curriculum to an international cohort of children with an inquiry based learning approach. Preparation of daily lesson plans as well as making short, medium and long term plans. A proactive approach is required in developing the ‘whole child’ through accurate and effective assessments as children develop and move toward achieving the early learning goals set out in the EYFS framework. A good working knowledge of phonics is also essential. Children in this class will be 4 years old by December this year and some will leave in 2025 to go to international primary schools.
A positive active participation in school events such as open days, the PTA committee, parents consultations and school interviews is expected. The healthy development of home-school cooperation, via the home-school platform and including organizing activities for class parents / helpers. Recording of class / school events through various media, video, photo for web upload or children’s portfolios. Preparation of two-three termly reports based on the EYFS framework to be discussed at parent consultations.
