The opportunity
The Tax Technology & Transformation specialty business for Asia Pacific comprises of teams in each Region (who is market focused), and the APTC (which is a Centre of Excellence, focused on specialist knowledge and Area market opportunities). This role is a specialist role in the APTC.


Your key responsibilities

• Data and AI applied to tax and related finance use-cases.
• Develop, refine, and implement advanced predictive models to generate insights from complex structured and unstructured data sets.
• Define success metrics and deliverable timelines, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet strategic objectives.
• Utilize Python and other data manipulation languages proficiently to prepare and manipulate data.
• Build POCs and support regional delivery of projects
• Go to market activities such as campaign management, facilitating Wavespace workshops, etc
• Solutions for data management and working with data warehouse technologies for finance and tax, including EPMs such as BPC, Pa PM, Hyperion, Anaplan, Tagetik, etc
• Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, presenting findings to a non-technical audience and providing strategic recommendations.
• Stay current with technical and industry developments and standards to ensure effective and advanced applications of data analysis techniques and methodologies.

Skills and attributes for success

• Experience in ETL, Data Engineering, Scripting.
• Knowledge and experience in end-to-end project delivery, including agile delivery methodologies (or hybrid approaches)
• Experience in a delivery role on Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, EPMs, Big Data or analytics projects
• Exceptional communication, documentation and presentation skills and stakeholder management experiences
• Experience in business intelligence, data warehousing/platform, and data strategy projects

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Min Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or degree in Finance with a major in Information systems related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Scientist, preferably at a senior level.
• Demonstrable experience with Generative AI, specifically with Large Language Models (LLM) is an advantage.
• Experience with finance data warehouses and EPMs
• Proficiency in Python and other applicable programming languages.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning, data mining, and predictive modeling.
• Excellent understanding of machine learning algorithms, processes, tools, and platforms.
• Possess strong problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.
