The work will take place at Gipsa-lab, as the University research center host (within Univ Grenoble Alpes, in Grenoble, France), in collaboration with EDF group.
Gipsa-lab is one of the major academic research groups in Systems and Signals in France, with about 400 people (https://www.gipsa-lab.grenoble-inp.fr/en).
EDF is one of the leading groups worldwide in electricty production, transmission and distribution, supplying energy and related services to nearly 40 million client sites around the world (https://www.edf.fr/en/the-edf-group).

Description

This internship comes within the context of a long-term collaboration between French industrial group
EDF-Hydro and academic research group Gipsa-lab, via Twin Hy Chair by Fondation Grenoble INP, on
the development and use of Digital Twins in the field of hydroelectric production. Hydroelectricity
indeed represents one the main sources of renewable energy, and EDF-Hydro, which is in charge of
exploiting more than 450 hydropower plants in France, is interested in strengthening their monitoring
by Digital Twin.
Adopting a control system point of view, the goal of this internship is to contribute to the development of a such a Digital Twin tool, by participating to the positioning, the design, and the test of an elementary brick in this context.
This internship will complement studies already initiated within a PHD in the process of being finalized, and another one just starting.

Profil

Final year of Engineering or Master program, with strong skills in Control, good expertise in
Matlab/Simulink, and knowledge in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. Abilities in Signal and Data
processing would also be appreciated.
