This is a permanent-full time position to work in our Cartago site, located in Zona Franca La Lima. Medical insurance, asociation, gym, cafeteria subsidy, free transportation, working from home and other, are part of our benefits package.

Our Finance Controller is a member of the finance department, where the main responsibilities are guarantee compliance with local tax obligations, ensure the correct application of regultations related to the Free Trade Zone Regime, and efficiently suprivise the accounts payable process to maintaing transparency and financial control of the organization

Major areas of accountability

Local Tax Management.

• Prepare, review and submit local tax returns (VAT, ISR, Others).
• Monthly VAT Declaration. (D104)
• Ensure compliance with the deadlines established by tax legislation.
• Carry out tax reconciliations and coordinate external or internal tax audits.
• Preparation of Quarterly Financial Statements in local currency aligned with corporate.
• Process Export Invoice and export Invoice Reconciliation.

Compliance with Free Trade Zone Regulations.

• Monitor and ensure compliance with the regulations and benefits associated with the Free Zone Regime.
• Manage the documentation and reports required by regulatory authorities ( Procomer-Customs)
• Coordinate specific audits related to the Free Trade Zone ( Procomer – Customs etc)
• Coordinate all the activities and tasks for the preparation of the Annual IAO report for Procomer.
• Fulfill requirements to change any actual regulatory (fiscal period, 20Bis, etc).

Accounts Payable Control.

• Supervise the process of registration and payment of obligations to suppliers.
• Implement internal controls that guarantee accuracy and transparency in payments.
• Review accounts payable reconciliations and optimize workflows to avoid delays or inconsistencies
• Responsible for the weekly payment report and all special payments.
• Invoices Acceptation in Ministerio de Hacienda.
• Control of Corporate Credit Cards.

Responsible of:

• Performing their job in compliance with the guidelines given.
• Drawing attention to the manager to any difficulties in understanding or following the guidelines.
• Drawing attention to inefficiency of the system.
• Take responsibility for those safety aspects identified for the given position.
• Support the positive EHS culture.

Essential qualifications

• Bachelor´s degree in Finance, Accounting , or related areas.
• 2-5 years experience in tax compliance and accounts payables.
• Previous proven experience in companies under the free trade zone regime.
• Very familiar with CR Free Trade Zone regulations and tax filling.
• B1 English level.
• Proved experience with ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations with experience in accounts reconciliations.
• Advance knowledge of MS Excel spreadsheet software and MS Power Point.
