Background

Wuxi Dipont School of Arts and Science was founded with the strong support of the Wuxi local government, through a partnership between two world-leading schools – Nanjing Foreign Language School, China and King’s College School, Wimbledon, UK – all of whom aimed to build a “school of the future” which focuses on providing well-rounded education. It opened in September 2018 with 750 pupils and has a current enrollment of just under 2,000 students. This remarkable growth is testament to the quality of the school, its exciting vision and the support of partners, parents and the wider community.

About you

• Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred
• Strong academic background, e.g. one of the following: CELTA/DELTA, language degree AND formal EAL qualification, or relevant degree
• Excited about teaching EAL learners throughout the age-range we offer (G9-12)
• 2+ years of good quality post-qualification experience including IGCSE ESL
• Able to demonstrate high level of student progress for a wide range of EAL learners
• Able to demonstrate a rigorous approach to planning and assessment
• Ability to collaborate, establish rapport and communicate in a Dual Language Immersion environment/multi-cultural contexts
• Skills in using data to inform teaching and learning

With capacity for over 3,000 students, the school is growing rapidly and will have around 2,000 enrolled from September 2021.
The campus consists of:

• A pre-school for pupils aged 3 to 6 years catering for Chinese and expatriate children and offering a bilingual programme based on EYFS, international and Chinese curricula.
• A bilingual elementary and junior high school for Chinese students in Grades 1 to 9 who undertake the mandatory Chinese curriculum delivered with a modern pedagogical approach and additional English language instruction.
• An international school for expatriate students from Grade 1 to Grade 10, offering a British-style curriculum leading to IGCSEs with additional Chinese language instruction
• A high school for Chinese and expatriate students, providing a wide range of IGCSE and A Level courses. The IB Diploma Programme will be implemented from September 2021.

Our state-of-the-art facilities include a large multi-purpose sports hall, a 50 metre indoor swimming pool, fitness centre, playing fields, 400m running track, well-equipped laboratories, art rooms, drama studios, performing arts auditorium with capacity for 800 people and extensive boarding facilities. A river runs alongside the campus and a boat house has been incorporated into the campus design.
Wuxi Dipont School of Arts and Science is a partnership project between Dipont Education, King’s College School, Wimbledon, and Nanjing Foreign Language School (Nanwai).
King’s College School, Wimbledon is an independent day school for boys aged 7-18 and girls aged 16-18 in Wimbledon, SW London. Nanjing Foreign Language School (Nanwai) is a middle and high school recognised as one of the top schools in China. Alumni go on to study at some of the most prestigious universities in China and overseas and it has been one of the leading schools in international programme development in China.
