Job Description:
As Cannabis Cultivation Intern, you'll have the chance to work closely with our experienced cultivation technicians. This hands-on experience will provide you with valuable knowledge about cannabis production, compliance with Canadian Cannabis Regulations, and the science behind successful cultivation.
Responsibilities of Cannabis Growing Interns Include:

• Dive deep into the art of cultivating cannabis, from nurturing young cuttings to fine-tuning their growth to create thriving cannabis plants.
• Maintain a spotless grow environment, ensuring every tool and surface meets Health Canada standards.
• Monitor and manage our cannabis plants, protecting them from pests and diseases.
• Learn the art of precise nutrient application, using both manual and automated techniques.
• Handle concentrated materials with care, ensuring safety and effectiveness.
• Contribute to the life cycle of our plants, from tiny cuttings to budding plants.
• Participate in research, expanding our knowledge of cannabis cultivation.
• Keep meticulous records, documenting every step of the process.
• Calibrate and maintain cultivation equipment.
• Collaborate with the whole team (cultivation, processing and operations departments), working together to produce exceptional cannabis products.

Internship Requirements:

• Must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution, pursuing a degree in a related scientific field (biology, botany, chemistry, horticulture, agriculture, etc.).
• Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have been granted refugee status to qualify for internship funding.
• Fully vaccinated against Covid-19, with proof of vaccination.
• Local to the Edmonton area or possess reliable transportation for commuting.
• Comfortable working in warm and humid cultivation spaces with bright lights, while wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided.
• Willing to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, including but not limited to sanitary clothing covers, gloves, mask, respirator, and/or eye protection.
• Capable of performing physical activities and/or repetitive movements throughout shifts.
• Comfortable with squatting, bending, and kneeling while utilizing tools and performing cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs (22kg).

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Internship / Co-op
Contract length: 4 months
Pay: From $15.50 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
