Role Overview:
CDCI Research seeks a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to lead impactful research and data management projects across Canada. You will coordinate diverse, cross-functional teams and engage with stakeholders to deliver high-quality results. This position is perfect for professionals with a passion for project management, cultural awareness, and historical research.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership:
  • Develop and oversee comprehensive project plans, including objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Lead teams to meet critical milestones and deliverables, ensuring alignment with client needs.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks to ensure smooth execution.
Team Management:
  • Guide and mentor cross-functional teams, promoting collaboration and high performance.
  • Facilitate effective communication through regular meetings and progress updates.
  • Inspire adaptability and excellence in response to evolving project requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Maintain transparent and culturally sensitive communication with clients, communities, and partners.
  • Uphold respect for Indigenous protocols, values, and cultural safety principles.
  • Collaborate on projects addressing key issues like MMIWG, Métis rights, Truth and Reconciliation, or related priorities identified by First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities.

Documentation and Reporting:
  • Prepare detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation in compliance with CDCI’s data security policies.
  • Share lessons learned to drive process improvements.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, social sciences, data management, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing complex research or data-driven projects, particularly those related to Indigenous issues.
  • Strong knowledge of archival research, Indigenous history, and cultural sensitivity practices.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management software and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for stakeholder and team meetings.
  • Eligible for PWGSC security clearance.
Considered an Asset:
  • Bilingual (English and French) for applicants of our Ottawa office.
  • Existing PWGSC Secret security clearance.
  • Familiarity with Prosci change management methodologies.
