Delivery Driver

TDG is currently seeking a Delivery Driver with a valid class G driver’s license for our Ottawa distribution warehouse. If you are a team player and have a positive attitude, then consider an opportunity with Tire Discounter Group.
Requirements:
- Self-starter, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to multi-task and be deadline oriented.

- Knowledge of relevant paperwork (customs, shipping/receiving, etc.)
- Experience using an ERP system
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs
- Valid class G driver’s license
- Clean driving record with no traffic violations in the past 12 months
- Ability to operate vehicles in a variety of weather and traffic conditions
- Strong Mechanical skills with ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance
- Knowledge of the tire industry would be an asset.
- Deliver product – ensure that product is delivered to customers accurately and on a timely basis; reporting any discrepancies or problems to management;
- Maintain vehicle – perform pre-trip inspection of vehicle; report any mechanical problems or damage of vehicle to management
- Maintain paperwork – ensure daily driving log is kept up to date and completed accurately; check all paperwork for deliveries and ensure it is accurate; all necessary paperwork is turned in at the end of the day
- Handle return goods – all returned goods are picked up and returned to the warehouse with the required paperwork
- Accept payment for goods – all cash money collected is handed in with accompanying paperwork to shipping office at the end of the run.
- Loading and unloading product – assists in loading and unloading product in the warehouse when required; assists customers unloading product; ensures that this is accomplished in a safe manner; ensures that the load is accurate and agrees with required paperwork.
- Maintains a safe working environment – operate vehicle in a safe manner and obeys all rules of the road; reports any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to vehicle; follows company safety policies and procedures; advises management of safety hazards
- Maintains good attendance – consistently report for work on time; available for overtime or extra deliveries when required; keeps the shipping office informed if going to be late for delivery due to accident or weather conditions – any condition beyond control; keeps the shipping office informed at all times.
- Maintains a good attitude – project a positive attitude toward the job assignments, customers, supervisors and fellow team members.
- Maintains a good image for the company – report to work in the proper and clean uniform and practices proper hygiene; is a courteous driver at all times – respects other drivers on the road.
- Assist in maintaining warehouse/equipment cleanliness – ensured delivery vehicle is kept clean at all times; ensures that any debris is cleaned up at the end of each run.
