Concession Manager

Supervisor Responsibilities
This job contains supervisorial responsibilities of direct reports and hourly event staff ranging from 12- 200+.
Summary
The expectation of this position is that the employee performs their duties and responsibilities in an efficient and effective manner. Furthermore, the expectation is to perform these duties while working as a part of a team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Has an overarching understanding of all concessions processes and can fully cover the Director of Concession’s tasks when needed.
  • Understands all menus, product offerings, packaging, and pricing.
  • Ensures all concession areas have proper displays and merchandise.
  • Executes and oversees all departmental HSQA standards, ensuring they are being met.
  • Provides operational planning to ensure appropriate teaming levels are met, as well as adequate products ordered to service each concession event.
  • Follows and executes preventative maintenance schedule as set forth by Director of Concessions
  • Has strong attention to detail.
  • Holds team accountable in delivering exceptional guest service.
  • Ensures team members have the tools necessary to complete their jobs.
  • Leads all correspondents and inquires of third parties while fulfilling their operational needs
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with partners, clients, guests, subcontractors, not-for-profits, and Levy Canada team members.
  • Regularly obtains feedback from clients and guests to improve operations.
  • Supports and communicates company initiatives.
  • Responds and assists in any departmental guest service issues.
  • Executes all menus, promotions and programs as outlined by the Director of Operations/Concessions in accordance with Compass standards.
  • Thoroughly and accurately uses applicable Levy Canada systems.
  • Achieves daily sales and assigned cost goals.
  • Achieves assigned budget goals.
  • Follows and enforces responsible alcohol service policies.
  • Effectively verifies all opening and closing inventories.
  • Executes required daily reporting in a timely manner.
  • Ensures required department reports are completed and information is compiled at month end closing.
  • Ensures team members adhere to Compass guidelines as stated in team member training manual and employee handbook.
  • Forecasts and adequately schedules team members to meet operational needs and desired targets.
  • Verifies assigned areas are fully stocked and are ready for operation.
  • Uses all performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to team.
  • Promotes a cooperative work climate, maximizing productivity and morale, and displays a positive attitude towards all team members.
  • Conducts regular scheduled meetings to ensure lines of communication are open between management and team members.
  • Interviews, hires, trains, and develops team members according to Compass guidelines.
Physical Demands
  • Frequent periods of either sitting or standing may occur; employees are encouraged to stretch as needed.
  • May have the occasional requirement to lift or carry items. Proper lifting technique is a must.
  • Office environment can be busy or quiet.
  • Stadium is an outdoor venue so, dressing appropriately and being prepared for changes in the environment is an expectation.
  • Frequent use of stairs is required; elevator accessibility is limited to accommodating clients and staff with mobility and accessibility needs.
  • Sensory Attention: During events, the stadium floor may be loud.

This position involves working in a unique environment. This is an event-based venue and has characteristics that are inherent to an event-based industry. We are licensed to carry and serve alcohol, and this is a very large part of our business. The majority of the positions we hire, come into contact with alcohol. This is not only an event-based work environment; but is also a sports stadium, and as such is subject to crowds, lots of noise, and intoxicated guests. The safety of our employees is of the utmost importance, measures are taken to mitigate and reduce risk.
Language Skills
  • English is the working language at this job location. Candidate must be able to understand, read, write, and speak English.
  • French is considered an asset but is not mandatory.
Qualifications
  • 3-4 years of concessions supervisor experience.
  • Must be flexible with schedule and able to work different shifts.
  • Must be bondable, and pass an employer administered background check.
  • Must be able to demonstrate mathematical skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel
  • Must possess a valid Smart Serve Certificate
