Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Engineer for the runtime team in Next Gen Industrial Automation organization. This team is an integral part of development for our offering, Eco Struxure Automation Expert (EAE). You will design and implement new features as well as maintain the existing codebase for a core component of the EAE: Eco RT. Eco RT is IEC 61499-compliant runtime software embedded in industrial PLCs and PACs that executes user programmed industrial control applications.
The IEC 61499 graphical programming language uses function blocks (either provided or user-defined) to realize an event-driven control execution model, thereby supporting the building of distributed control systems.

• Collaborate with product owner, technical lead, developers, and stakeholders to understand product requirements and system functionality
• Participate in architecting and designing solutions that meet requirements
• Break down work and estimate efforts in line with agile development practices
• Perform code development, debugging, testing, and code reviews, adhering to best practices for quality, performance, maintainability, and cybersecurity
• Work with verification and validation teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage and timely resolution of defects

• Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field, with 7+ years of software development experience
• Strong eagerness to learn and adapt, typically found in a startup environment
• Proficient in object-oriented programming (C/C++) for multitasking, real-time, and distributed systems on Linux, Zephyr/RTOS, and/or Windows
• Familiarity with high-level languages (Python and/or C#), Git, Docker, and static analysis tools
• Knowledge of the Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) and experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) is a plus
