The Austrian Archaeological Institute (Oe AI) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (Oe AW), the largest non-
university basic research institution in Austria, is offering a position as

ACADEMY SCIENTIST (F/M/X)
(full-time, 40 hours per week)

in the “Epigraphy” working group of the Department of Classical Studies, starting February 01st, 2025.

Your tasks

• Conduct research in Greek Epigraphy with a particular focus on Asia Minor.

• Preparation of a publication in the research group series (TAM, ETAM, "Veröffentlichungen zur

Epigraphik"), aiming for completion within two years

• Administrative support to the Epigraphy research group (formerly "Asia Minor Commission"),

including editorial management of submitted manuscripts

Your profile

• Ph D in Ancient History or Classical Philology

• Experience in editing inscriptions

• Thorough knowledge of ancient Asia Minor

• Excellent command of Ancient Greek and Latin, as well as very good knowledge of the common

conference languages (German, English, French, Italian), preferably also Turkish
