Job Titles: Staff Accountant / Sr Accountant
Job Summary:
The Accountant will play a critical role in supporting a federal government client by assisting in the preparation of financial statements and facilitating the grant accrual estimation and validation process. This position ensures compliance with the CFO Act and supports accelerated deadlines for agency submission of unaudited financial statements, as mandated by the U.S. Treasury, OMB, and department agencies. The Senior Accountant will lead the implementation of Managerial Cost Accounting and Full Cost Accounting practices and oversee the development and delivery of tailored financial management training.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Accountant: $95,000
Sr Accountant: $115,000
This role is integral to ensuring the client’s compliance with federal financial reporting requirements and maintaining accountability within their financial operations.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 32 per week

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing financial statements and related reporting packages to meet federal requirements and submission deadlines.
- Lead initiatives to implement Managerial Cost Accounting and Full Cost Accounting processes.
- Develop and deliver customized financial management training programs.
- Perform detailed financial data analysis and ensure audit readiness.
- Support the compilation and presentation of Federal Financial Statements and Performance and Accountability Reports (PAR).
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the submission of required financial reports in compliance with U.S. Treasury and OMB guidelines.
- Utilize the U.S. Standard General Ledger (USSGL) and apply knowledge of Treasury Financial Management Service guidance, Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board directives, and OMB publications.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in federal financial management, including financial statement preparation, data analysis, and audit presentation.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM).
- Strong knowledge of Federal Accounting Standards and related regulatory guidance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point for report creation and documentation.
- Experience managing time effectively to meet tight deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Oracle Federal Financial Systems, Oracle database management, and related reporting tools.
- Familiarity with developing and running Oracle management reports and queries.
- Extensive understanding of the United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL).
- Ability to interpret and apply Treasury Financial Management Service and Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board guidance.
- Strong communication and analytical skills to deliver results and support decision-making.
Staff Accountant: $95,000
Sr Accountant: $115,000
