We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as a Manager Acquisition Risk Management - Unsecured Assets

Role Purpose

The jobholder is responsible for the constant and comprehensive analyses of the Credit Card and Personal Instalment Loan portfolios, with the underlying goal of growth and profitability. He/She is responsible for supporting the WPB Risk teams by providing all acquisition risk analysis related to the unsecured consumer assets, implementation, and review of credit policies, close and contact coordination with various internal units as well as regional counterparts.

Principal Accountabilities:

Impact on the Business

Determine the state of the portfolios and identify indicators of deteriorating credit quality and opportunities available for further growth, through the development of studies and financial models that utilise all customer application and behavioural data.
Produce recommendations that are actionable and effective, as a result of a thorough understanding of all existing strategies and processes as well as future business direction, and through constant discussion and exchange of ideas with various units within the Bank.

Customers / Stakeholders

Constantly engage the WPB Product and Sales, and Marketing teams to provide regular feedback on asset quality, improve acquisition strategy through credit risk criteria review and analysis.
Proactively collaborate with internal partners (particularly WPB, WPB Risk MI Reporting, D&A, DBS, UWS and ASP Risk) to ensure timely and optimal credit-risk related decisions are taken for acquisition management strategies/policies, aligned with business strategy.

Leadership and Teamwork

Represent Acquisition Risk Management Team in local business meetings and provide credible and authoritative decisions, support and feedback on initiatives and business strategy.
Regularly engage with ASP Risk to ensure alignment in acquisition credit strategies and timely escalation of credit risk issues.
Ensure professional growth and development of direct and indirect reports by providing constant, timely feedback and career coaching, and relevant training.
Improve the team’s ability to link personal tasks/accountabilities to the overall goal of the bank.
Improve WPB Risk Employee Engagement.

Operational Effectiveness & Control

Monitoring and review of acquisition reports and provide timely feedback to stakeholders.
Actively engaging with 1LOB (WPB Product, Fraud + Credit and Control Services, Sales, GSC Banking Ops and UWS) to ensure proper implementation of all cards acquisition management credit risk criteria and policies.
Introduce and manage system initiatives, processes and procedures that promote efficient application processing and systematic enforcement of lending guidelines.
Maintain HSBC internal control and Group Compliance standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
Manage operational risk through the clear and strict implementation of operational guidelines.

Qualifications

Experience, Skills and Qualifications

Strong analytical skills, lateral thinking, and business judgment
Risk management experience
Working knowledge of credit approval operations and the relevant systems
Leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
