Job Description
The purpose of the role is to document and manage business requirements across a busy and fast growing BFSI in the region, mostly in the digital transformation and Fintech arena. These projects will be largely IT and functional based, but may involve significant elements of business change. The business analyst will be responsible for the development of detailed business requirements as per the standards of International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) for the allocated projects and ensuring a smooth delivery. Stakeholder management and communication will be vital to success.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with business stakeholders, Project Manager and technical staff to scope, design and estimate project requirements and timings
- Hands-on experience of developing detailed business requirements for projects and programs (as per IIBA framework) setting appropriate high standard to lead by example
- Provide detailed business documentation, as per the plan, against tight deadlines.
- Prioritize work, allocate resource and report progress in accordance with PMO and IIBA principles.
Key Competencies (Skills and abilities needed to perform role)
- IT infrastructure and business analysis management
- Experience in documenting business requirements of projects delivered within a structured framework such as Prince or PMP.
- Experience estimating, scoping and designing projects’ requirements
- Ability to produce high quality documentation
- Experience delivering presentations to senior stakeholders on the business analysis and gaps.
- Evidence of active management of project business requirments.
- The ability to facilitate workshops and meetings. For example, requirements gathering, project boards, technical review sessions or process design workshops.
- The proven ability to influence those outside of their direct reporting line.
- The attention to detail is takes to be extremely precision about the content of requirements documents, weekly reports to status updates.
- A good working knowledge of Share Point or such portals.
- The ability to work within an unstructured environment, and without clear guidance.
- A technical background would be an advantage. The role may suit an individual who is looking to pursue his/her career as Business Analyst.
- A good knowledge of corporate systems such as Core Banking, various banking channels, HR, CRM, Finance systems etc.
- Experience managing UAT and testing
- A basic working knowledge of ITIL.
- Knowledge of the Banking and Financial Services industry is an advantage.
Professional Qualifications
- A formal IIBA qualification, such as CBAP is an advantage.
