· Monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations.
· You are to develop measures for the safety of personnel all time (Off site and onsite).
· You are to correct any unsafe acts or conditions by following the right channel line of authority (e.g when a worker is not wearing proper PPE on site).
· You are to exercise emergency authority to prevent or stop unsafe acts when immediate action is required.
· It is your duty to maintain awareness of active and developing situations (in & outside the office).
· Participate in planning meetings to identify any health and safety concerns inherent in the operations daily work-plan.
· Investigate accidents that have occurred within incident areas and near misses.
· Ensure preparation and implementation of Site Safety and Health Plan (SSHP).
· Inspects the site to ensure it is a hazard-free environment before job commences.
· Conducts toolbox meetings before any job commences on site.
· As a Safety officer you are to review and approve all subcontractors’ safety plans.
· Organise training and carries out drills and exercises on how to manage emergency situations.
· Conducts job hazard analysis.
· Work with the HR to establishes safety standards and policies as needed.
· Watches out for the safety of all workers and works to protect them from entering hazardous situations. Responds to employees’ safety concerns.
· Support the development of OHS policies and programs.
· Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₦100,000.00 - ₦190,000.00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:

• Ikeja: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Education:

• Higher National Diploma (Preferred)

Experience:

• Safety Officer: 2 years (Required)

Language:

• English (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• ISPON Certificate (Preferred)

Willingness to travel:

• 50% (Preferred)
