Staff Accountant

The position of Staff Accountant is required to support the accounting operations of the US parent in Malaysia.
Main Objectives and Activities
- Responsible to complete daily US accounting activities – GL entries, month end and year end closing processes, reporting, reconciliation, and statutory compliance matters on a timely and accurate matter
- Assist in liaison with external auditors, consultants and tax agents on financial accounting and tax issues when necessary.
- Adhere to financial policies, procedures, and related internal control policies.
- Adhere to systems, procedures, and practices for the smooth running of the division and the company.
- Initiate development, implementation, and improvement in work processes to increase work efficiency.
- Undertake any other tasks which may be assigned from time to time.
- A recognized accounting degree from university/ completed a professional qualification in ACCA, CIMA or CPA.
- Fresh grad or up to 2 years working experience in similar capacity.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with high proficiency in English.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising on quality.
- Result-oriented, self-motivated and a team player who will be working in a challenging environment.
- Available to work on evening hours occasionally to support US accounting.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- Ability to communicate with colleagues clearly and effectively in both
- Must be able to work independently.
- Self-motivated with positive mind-set and looking for continuous improvement in the department.
- Good time management skills and ability to set and adjust priorities in a fast pace, quick changing environment.
- Plan and prioritize work and work in an organized manner.
- Sense of urgency in performing task assign and be accountable for all duties and responsibilities.
