HSSE Manager

Responsibilities will include:
- Oversee day-to-day management of HSSE for all project activities.
- Lead and be responsible for all aspects of HSSE including internal and external programmes, equipment and resources, legal compliance and best practice, incident response and investigation.
- Develop, implement and review the HSSE Management System.
- Perform hazard identification and risk assessment to all field activities to reduce the risks to ALARP.
- Inculcate HSSE best practice through training and ensure compliance through audits and monitoring.
- Provide regular, reliable reports and data for monitoring HSSE performance and informing management decisions.
- Act as the commander of the company’s Forest Fire Emergency Team.
- Recruit, train and manage fire-fighters from villages around the project site.
- Develop strategies for fire prevention and coordinate all tactical aspects of fire suppression activities including manpower, logistics, equipment and field supplies.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders such as Bomba, Department of Environment, Forestry Department and neighbouring plantations and villages with regards to fire management.
- 7 years’ experience in HSSE assessment and management.
- Leadership experience and proven results within the natural resources management sector.
- One or more of the following: OSHA (501) 30-Hour Safety Training or equivalent experience, First Aid / First Responder Certified, Hazard Identification training, Root Cause Analysis Certification or training.
- Interest in outdoor activities and experienced in jungle trekking and camping.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good written and spoken Malay and English languages.
Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
