The Position

As a Payroll, Time & Benefits Senior Specialist, you will ensure the accurate and timely execution of payroll, benefits, tax, social insurance, and absence management processes. Your focus will be on delivering exceptional service to our employees, managers, and business partners, acting as a key advisor on payroll-related matters. You will also play a significant role in identifying and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the People & Culture (P&C) function.

Key Responsibilities:

Execute system data maintenance and administer payroll, tax, social insurance, and benefits processes.
Provide top-notch customer service for pay, time, and benefits inquiries and troubleshooting.
Manage and reconcile mass upload files for all pay frequencies, ensuring accuracy.
Ensure compliance with local and global regulations, and handle union negotiations if necessary.
Serve as an expert contact for complex payroll inquiries and processes.
Proactively identify and troubleshoot payroll issues, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with P&C colleagues and other functional partners.
Coach and mentor new team members, ensuring high service quality and customer satisfaction.

Who You Are:

Experience: 2-5+ years in payroll services, preferably in a shared service center environment in Costa Rica.
Skills: Proficient in Workday P&C processes, advanced Excel skills, excellent attention to detail, and strong analytical abilities.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of Costa Rican payroll cycles, tax, and social insurance.
Attributes: Ability to thrive in a multicultural environment, strong communication skills in English, problem-solving mindset, and customer-centric approach.
Capability: Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive improvements in a matrix organization.
